AFRICA: Church Holds Webinar on Pope’s Encyclical Fratelli Tutti

NAIROBI, OCTOBER 13, 2020 (CISA) – The Jesuit Conference of Africa and Madagascar (JCAM) is hosting the Catholic Church in Africa in a Webinar entitled: “What is Pope Francis Saying about the Global Economy, Politics, Peace and Security and the Global South?” in response to the Papal document Fratelli Tutti.

“The Webinar will take place on 13th October 2020 at 2.30 to 4.00pm GMT; 4.30 to 6.00pm Rome time and 5.30 to 7.00pm East Africa Time,” reads the invite by JCAM to newsrooms.

The lead speaker will be Fr Augusto Zampini the Deputy Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development (DIHD) at the Vatican and leader of the Vatican Covid-19 Commission.

Pope Francis’ new encyclical, Fratelli Tutti addresses various global justice issues including the current situation of the global economy, developing countries’ emerging debt crisis, peace and security, global health.

JCAM is working in collaboration with The Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM), The Association of Member Episcopal Conferences of East Africa (AMECEA), The Association of Consecrated Women of Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Academics Stand against Poverty, Yale University Global Justice Program and The Jesuits Justice and Ecology Network Africa (JENA)
