KENYA: Outgoing Nuncio Bids Church, Diplomatic Corps Farewell

NAIROBI, NOVEMBER 14, 2018 (CISA)– Archbishop Charles D. Balvo, the Outgoing Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan, on Tuesday November 13 bid farewell to the Church in Kenya following his transfer to Czech Republic.

In a meeting that brought together the Catholic bishops and diplomats in Kenya, friends, and associates, the nuncio thanked everyone for their contribution towards his stay in Kenya since April 12, 2013.

Archbishop Balvo also applauded church leadership in Kenya for setting good examples to its subjects especially at times when the country was in a political crisis.

Speaking on the behalf of the Church in Kenya Bishop Philip Anyolo the President of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) thanked Archbishop Balvo for his contribution to Kenya by building bridges.

“As you go, we want to assure you that the bridge you have built will be very busy. We shall be with you in prayers and be there any possibility let us use the bridge to meet again.  To people of Czech Republic, “we want to assure you that you are getting a wonderful nuncio. Take good care of him,” he said.
