KENYA: Paulines Publications opens New Wing in Nairobi

NAIROBI DECEMBER 15, 2015 (CISA) – Paulines Publications Communications have opened a new publication wing in Nairobi.

Speaking during the official opening ceremony at Paulines Publication centre in Nairobi on December 9, Bishop Joseph Obanyi, Chairman of Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, Commission for Social Communications said that the move will help disseminate information to all faithful in real time.

“The opening of this center is indeed a laudable move to enhance evangelizations through the means of social communication especially through print media. This will help create new ways of responding to the needs of Catholics,” said Bishop Joseph Obanyi. He urged the faithful to appreciate the Holy Father’s recent visit by offering information adequately to strengthen other people’s faith.

“The challenge ahead is to help Catholic faithful and indeed all people good will in Kenya to continue appreciating and contemplating the visit and voice of the Holy Father by availing this information in print, video, audio, images and all forms the may come to the knowledge of the truth,” said Bishop Obanyi of the Catholic Diocese of Kakamega.

In an interview with CISA, Superior General and director of Pauline’s publication Africa, Sr Teresa Marcazzan, said that the Pauline’s publications was dedicated towards reaching all people from different religions in their work of evangelization.

“We realized that the country bookshop is small and we are not here only for the Catholics but for every person it’s all about evangelism and promotion of the gospel.

The book center will be a media center and it will be distributing books to all media center,” said Sr Teresa. The ceremony was also attended by Bishop Philip Anyolo, Chairman of Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, Bishop Peter Kihara of the Catholic Diocese of Marsabit, Mr Daniel Antonio, Mozambique Ambassador to Kenya and Mr Mauro Massoni, Italian Ambassador to Kenya.

In 30 years, according to Sr Marcazzan, the Paulines have published about 1700 titles of books and 20 liturgical books including the African bible that is also being translated into Swahili, Portuguese and French.
