VATICAN CITY, OCTOBER 19, 2018 (CISA)-The 2018 Bishop’s Synod on Young people in Rome has created a commission that will draft a letter to the young people world over with a message from the Synod.
With the approval of Pope Francis, the Synod has set up an eight-member Commission to draft the letter, the contents of which will be subsequently submitted to the Synod Assembly for consideration before publishing, Vatican News reported.
The Synod made this communication at an October 18 press briefing at the Vatican City, during the ongoing bishops’ synod on Young people, the faith and vocational discernment.
This is after a section of the bishops proposed the idea of a letter to the young people on October 17.
The commission members include: Cardinal Dieudonné Nzapalainga, C.S.Sp., Archbishop of Bangui (Central African Republic), Auxiliary Bishop Emmanuel Gobilliard of Lyon (France), Archbishop Anthony Colin Fisher, O.P., of Sydney (Australia), Bishop Eduardo Horacio García of San Justo (Argentina).
The commission’s Young Auditors are: Ms. Briana Regina Santiago of the Apostles of the Interior Life (USA), Mrs. Anastasia Indrawan, member of the Commission for Youth of the Bishop’s Conference of Indonesia (Indonesia).
The Special envoy in the commission is Fr Alois, Prior of the Taizé Ecumenical Community (France),while the expert in the group is Fr Michele Falabretti, the head of the Youth Ministry of the Italian Episcopal Conference (Italy).
The Synod will end on October 28.
