KENYA: Consolata School Kicks off Golden Jubilee Celebration

NAIROBI JUNE 17 2016(CISA) – The Consolata School in Westlands Nairobi today began year-long celebrations to mark 50 years of the school.

“This is a solemn occasion to pause and look back at the fifty year journey. A moment to look ahead at the mountains we must climb but at the same time to look where we have come from,” said Fr Hieronymus Joya, the outgoing Chairman of the School’s Board of Governors and the Regional Superior of the Consolata Missionaries, during the Mass held at the school grounds.

He also paid homage to the teachers, workers, parents and old students who have worked hard to maintain the legacy of the school with special mention to Ms Rosalia Fernades who has been in the school from its early beginnings.

Fr Caroli Ouma, the Principal also noted that the school has witnessed intense development over the years.

“Consolata School has over the years grown and expanded improving its facilities, asserting itself and assuming a place in society and particularly in Nairobi as an outstanding School.

It is by the grace of God that we have come this far and we are thankful to Him,” he said.

“In the coming months we will reflect on how faithful we have been to the mission of the school of ‘forming morally upright, academically excellent, gentle mannered young men and women who will make a positive impact on the society’

At the same time, we plan to make the school a central part of the wider society, bringing together persons from all parts of the country and the world,” Fr Joya noted.

“The celebrations will take place from now on and will culminate in the main celebrations that will take place in June next year”, he added.

Established in 1967, Consolata School is a private Catholic Mixed Day School run by Consolata Missionaries.
