KENYA: Catholic sponsored Schools Conference Underway in Nairobi

NAIROBI AUGUST 16, 2016 (CISA) – A conference for principals of Catholic sponsored schools is currently underway in Nairobi.

The three day conference (16 – 18 August) organized by the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) Commission for Education and Religious Education is taking place at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, (Langat-campus).

The Conference will tackle several issues affecting catholic schools such as integration of gospel values in education, teacher management, Catholic Identity, examination integrity and the ongoing education reforms.

The annually held event will be attended by the members of Catholic Schools Principals Association – Kenya (CaSPA-K) and it is on its third year running.

Several Catholic Bishops are expected to address the conference whose theme is “Catholic School, A place to Encounter Jesus Christ, The Compassionate Teacher” which is in line with the Jubilee year of Mercy. Others expected to address the conference are government officials and various professionals.’

Over 1000 Principals are expected to attend the conference together with Education Secretaries from all the Catholic Dioceses of Kenya and Religious Education Advisors.

Some of the partner organizations in the three day conference include, the Catholic University Eastern of Africa (CUEA), Moran Publishers, Longhorn Publishers’ Jomo Kenyatta Foundation publishers, DPL Festive, Coca Cola, PACIS Insurance and ABC Bank.
