KENYA: Former Head of Anglican Church Appointed to Head Anti-Corruption Body

NAIROBI JANUARY 20, 2017(CISA) – Eliud Wabukala, former head of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) is the new Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

His appointment was published in the Kenya Gazette on Wednesday January 17.

The former Archbishop takes up the office that has been vacant since August 2016 when the former EACC chair Philip Kinusi, resigned over corruption allegations.

“He is eminently qualified and respected leader who will deliver his mandate  at the helm of the commission to the expectations of Kenyans,” President Uhuru Kenyatta in a statement read by statehouse spokesperson Manoah Esipisu congratulating Eliud Wabukala on the new appointment.
