KAMPALA, AUGUST 30, 2016(CISA)-Archbishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala has urged Ugandans to make wills “to avoid leaving misunderstandings among potential beneficiaries of their property when they die.”
Speaking at the burial ceremony of the late Fr Joseph Kijjambu at Sacred Heart of Mary Cathedral, Lubaga, August 27, Archbishop Lwanga said that to steer the spirit, he has since introduced forms that will work as wills for priests.
Fr Kijjambu died last week at Nsambya Hospital after suffering from stroke two days before his death.
Fr Kijjambu was remembered as an obedient, hardworking, intelligent and self-driven person who believed in self-sustenance.
Archbishop Lwanga said Kijjambu’s departure has left a big gap in the Catholic Church.
The archbishop, reported Uganda’s New Vision Newspaper, urged fellow priests to emulate Fr Kijjambu’s exemplary life of serving the Church and God.
He also described him as a talented advisor and teacher to all, who was a dedicated and determined clergyman.
Fr Kijjambu was one of the longest serving priests, having served in Kampala Archdiocese for 42 years.
He was laid to rest at Lubaga priests’ graveyard after a requiem mass led by Archbishop Lwanga and attended by thousands of mourners from different dioceses, including his home parish Mpigi.
