LUSAKA, NOVEMBER 2, 2018 (CISA)-Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) through its Secretary General, Fr Cleophas Lungu has stated that it is not right to have Catholics who pray, recite Hail Mary but are corrupt and do injustice.
“As Catholic Bishops in Zambia, we want Catholics that are deep anchored on the word of God and are morally upright. It is not right to have Catholics who pray, recite Hail Mary but are corrupt and do injustice. The Bishops want Catholics who care for the environment with deep understanding of the social teachings of the Church,” said Fr Lungu.
He was speaking during the opening of a four-day workshop on the promotion of evangelization through biblical, pastoral ministry and popularization of the Catholic social teaching that began on October 30 in Lusaka.
Fr Lungu, who was speaking on behalf of Bishop Mulenga therefore called on Catholics in Zambia to be anchored on the word of God and morally upright.
He further added that the Church desired that the word of God causes an impact and results in deeper faith and morally upright people.
The workshop organized by the Catholic Secretariat’s Biblical Desk and Caritas Zambia drew participants from Chipata, Lusaka and Kabwe dioceses.
