NAKURU, MAY 21, 2019 (CISA) –Bishop Maurice Muhatia Makumba, of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru has encouraged Catholic communicators to remain Christ centered in their work.
“We must be aware that the content of Christian Communication comes from Jesus Christ, revolves around him and without him our communication as Christians is empty and has no meaning …the content of our communication should be a message of truth and renewal. We live in a world hostile to the truth and each one of you must recognize that you are an important tool of spreading the truth,” he said.
The bishop was speaking in Nakuru on May 12, during a celebration to mark the 53rd World Communications Day.
“In our role as communicators of Catholic media, we must ask ourselves three key questions; what does Catholic communication consists of, what are the results and what are the challenges that Christians and catholic media professionals of the world face?” he posed.
He added that the Church encourages media professionals to embrace the modern means of communication in order to spread the gospel and reach the greatest possible numbers.
Bishop Makumba also extended gratitude to the Catholic media for embracing modern communication and starting two radio stations; Radio Amani and Radio Umoja in the diocese of Nakuru.
