KAKAMEGA, MAY 12 2015 (CISA) – Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has introduced an anti-terrorism course in its curriculum to help advance efforts to fight terrorism in the country.
The special program is compulsory for all the students and members of staff joining the university from September 2015 following the April 2 terror attack at Garissa University College in Northern Kenya.
According to the University’s Community Liaison Officer Oscar Waswa, insecurity and terrorism cases are becoming more rampant in the country and there is need for the university to train its students and staff on how to handle such cases.
“Terrorism remains a major threat to our security interests. Efforts to combat the menace are hampered by lack of awareness,” Waswa said
