JUBA, JUNE 30, 2015 – The Sudan Catholic Bishops Conference (SCBC) is to open schools for South Sudanese who fled to Sudan.
Speaking on Sunday June 28 at St Joseph’s Church of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba, the Secretary General of SCBC, Fr Jacob Odwa Paul observed that many South Sudanese have gone to Khartoum, Sudan in about four camps raising the concern of the Church, Radio Bakhita reported.
Fr Jacob was speaking during a visit by a delegation of nine members of the Church in Need and Relief Fund from Europe.
The team from Europe had visited Wau, Yambio, Rumbek and Torit listening to challenges citizens face, urging them to continue praying for peace in the new nation for development to prevail.
Meanwhile Rumbek Girls Primary School administration has appealed to county and state education stakeholders to provide more female teachers, Catholic Radio Network reported June 27.
Isaac Matoc, a teacher’s representative noted that the school lacks female teachers who are supposed to provide guidance to young girls.
Rumbek Girls’ Primary School has at least 700 pupils.
