GHANA: Martyrs of Uganda Church Unveils Anniversary Logo

ACCRA OCTOBER 13, 2015(CISA) – The Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Church at Mamprobi in Accra has unveiled a logo to commemorate its 50th anniversary celebration.

The logo was unveiled by the Parish Priest, Fr Delase Parku. The event coincided with the women’s mini harvest which was held to raise funds for the completion of some projects in the church.

Fr Parku indicated that the church was not only celebrating what the founders started years ago, but also building upon what they left “so that members will come to celebrate them just as the church is remembering them today,” Ghana web reported October 12.

The theme for the anniversary, which will officially be launched on November 29, 2015, is “Martyrs: Being faithful to the end.”

The church has also earmarked activities such as floats and tours to religious sites in the country to commemorate the year-long celebration.

The Chairman of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPP), Mr James Amissah, said the celebration was aimed at enhancing the spiritual growth of the parishioners.

He appealed to members of the church, including those in the diaspora, to provide funds for some of its projects such as the expansion of the chapel and renovation of the school’s facilities.
