KENYA: Religious Superiors’ Conference of Kenya Gets New Chairman

NAIROBI NOVEMBER 8, 2016 (CISA) – Fr Paul Sila Nzomo, OFM Capuchin is the new Chairman of the Religious Superiors’ Conference of Kenya (RSCK).

According to a statement sent to CISA November 7, Fr Nzomo was confirmed as the new Chairman following “an absolute majority vote” that took place during the RSCK Annual General Meeting held at Roussel House of the Donum Dei Sisters, in Karen,.

“Fr Felix J. Phiri, MAfr, formally resigned as Chairman, because of his new duties as Provincial Superior of the Southern African Province of the Missionaries of Africa. He is thus required to move to Zambia, which is his home country,” read the statement.

Other than the Chairman, the RSCK Executive Committee composes of a new Secretary General and three members who continue into their third year of office.

The team comprises; Chairman – Fr Paul Sila Nzomo, OFM Capuchin; Vice-Chairman – Bro Benson Muriuki, BSJ; Formation Chairman – Fr Albert Fuchs, SVD; Technical Adviser – Fr Raphael Obetia , AJ, and Secretary General – Bro Julias Ouma Awino, BSJ.

RSCK brings together consecrated religious men in Kenya through their superiors and seeks to promote communion and cooperation among the male religious in the country.

It also collaborates closely with the Association of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK) and the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB).
