JUBA, OCTOBER 19, 2018 (CISA) – The Outgoing Apostolic Nuncio to of Kenya and South Sudan, Archbishop Charles D. Balvo, on October 17, bid farewell to the Church in South Sudan following his transfer to Czech.
Archbishop Paulino Lukudu of Juba led the seven Catholic dioceses of South Sudan in organizing the October 17 event that took place in Juba.
During the event, the bishops urged the outgoing nuncio to pray for South Sudan to attain lasting peace, and invited him to attend the upcoming November 2019 centenary celebrations of the Archdiocese of Juba.
In an earlier interview with CISA, Archbishop Balvo confirmed his transfer, upon acceptance by the Government of Czech Republic.
Archbishop Balvo was appointed Nuncio South Sudan on December 21, 2013.
