NAIROBI, NOVEMBER 14, 2018 (CISA) – The late Archbishop John Njenga, Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Mombasa, was buried in a Crypt within the Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi.
His Eminence John Cardinal Njue, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Nairobi was the main celebrant at the burial Mass that took place Tuesday, November 13 at the University of Nairobi grounds.
According to Archbishop Martin Kivuva of the Archdiocese of Mombasa, the late Archbishop Njega willed to be buried in Nairobi and not in Mombasa from where he retired.
“God has a special place for the souls of the righteous, even though departed, whether young or still needed. He tells us not to mourn like people with no hope but to mourn like people with the hope that if Christ died and resurrected, then we that trust in Christ, will be with him in the end,” said Archbishop Kivuva of the Archdiocese of Mombasa in his homily.
Archbishop Njenga died on Sunday, November 4.
