NAIROBI, NOVEMBER 9, 2018 (CISA)-The late Archbishop John Njenga emeritus of the Archdiocese of Mombasa will be buried on Tuesday, November 13, at the Holy Family Minor Basilica, Nairobi.
He will be interred in a crypt, at the Holy Family Minor Basilica in accordance with Catholic tradition.
According to communication from the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) there will be a vigil Mass at the Holy Family Basilica on Monday, November 11, starting 5.15pm.
The funeral Mass will be held at the University of Nairobi grounds from 10.00am on November 13.
Archbishop Njenga died on Sunday, November 4. He will be the first bishop to be buried within the Holy Family Basilica. The first bishop of Nairobi JJ McCarthy was buried in Ireland, his country of origin where he had retired after active service.
His Eminence Maurice Michael Cardinal Otunga was buried at St. Austine`s Cemetery, Msongari, Nairobi before his remains were exhumed and interred at the Resurrection Gardens, Karen following the commencement of his beatification process.
