ELDORET, NOVEMBER 19, 2019 (CISA)-Pope Francis has appointed Rt. Rev. Dominic Kimengich to the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret. The announcement was made Saturday, November 16 in Rome.
Bishop Kimengich has been the Bishop of Lodwar since March 5, 2011.
The Catholic Diocese of Eldoret has been without a bishop since October 30, 2017 following the death of Rt. Rev. Cornelius Korir. The diocese has been under the apostolic administration of Bishop Maurice Crowley of Kitale.
Bishop Kimengich was born April 23, 1961 and ordained priest for the catholic Diocese of Nakuru on September 14, 1986. He previously served as an Auxiliary Bishop of Lodwar.
