LILONGWE, NOVEMBER 4, 2022 (CISA) – The Catholic bishops in Zimbabwe have appointed Fr Tryvis Moyo, C.Ss.R as the new Secretary General of the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops’ Conference (ZCBC) in a press statement dated November 3.
“Fr Moyo takes over from Fradereck Chiromba who has been at the helm of the conference for 19 years,” reads the statement in part.
Fr Moyo has worked as the parish priest of St. Gerard’s Parish in Harare, Zimbabwe, and also as the regional consultor of the Redemptorist Region of Zimbabwe as well as the local superior of the congregation.
“We wish Fr Moyo well in his new appointment,” said ZCBC adding, “We thank Fr Chiromba for his unwavering dedication and commitment in the service of the church and we wish him every blessing from the Good Lord in his new ministry.”
Fr Moyo’s mandate comes into effect in January 2023.
