KENYA: Stealing Medical Funds is Murder, Catholic priest warns

NAKURU OCTOBER 30, 2016(CISA)-Politicians and civil servants who steal funds meant for medicine and other medical supplies are committing murder, a catholic Priest in Nakuru dioceses has warned.

Speaking during a get together Mass of different parishes in Njoro deanery last week Fr Dr Stephen Mbugua, the Chaplain at Egerton University, Njoro, said that the runaway corruption had led to increasing poverty and suffering on many poor Kenyans.

He added that despite government budgets allocating lots of money for different community projects, a large portion of the cash was being stolen through corruption cartels in the counties and national government.

“I am reminding the politicians here today that those who steal money meant for medicine and other health supplies have committed murder against the many people dying from easily treatable diseases,”said Fr Dr Mbugua.

The meeting was attended by several politicians and government officials.
