ABIDJAN, DECEMBER 14, 2018 (CISA)-The Catholic Church in the Country through the Episcopal Commission for Social Pastoral will on December 20, organize a forum to strengthen the mobilization of partners and encourage new vocations to the church.
Speaking on Wednesday December 12, during a press conference held in Abidjan at the headquarters of Caritas, Fr Jean-Pierre Tiémélé the National Executive Secretary of Caritas Côte d’Ivoire said the forum will be held at the cultural center of the cathedral Saint Paul of Abidjan.
“This forum is an open day that the Church organizes to give visibility to the social activities it leads,” said Fr Tiémélé adding that “It will allow each commission entity to appreciate the actions of the Church and exchange with those who do not really know them.”
About 350 participants from the government, church institutions, United Nations member agencies, embassies, private companies, foundations, universities and research centers are expected to participate in the forum.
“One of the objectives of this forum is to strengthen these partnerships and explore new resource opportunities around the Church’s social actions for the benefit of the most vulnerable. We want to encourage people and partners who help us to do more,” added Fr Tiémélé, reported Lacroix Africa.
The Social Action Forum guided by the theme ‘When Evangelism and Social Combine for Integral Human Development’ will be furnished with conferences, roundtables, and communications to present and discuss the impact of church activities on Ivorian society.
