ACCRA, AUGUST 20, 2019 (CISA)-Archbishop John Kwofie of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, has called on the Church to help monitor education policies rolled out by the government.
“One way the Church can help to make education better in the country is to be a watchdog; making sure that the policies that government roll out in the area of education serve the Ghanaian and makes the Ghanaian better.”
The prelate was speaking to Radio Angelus at the 18th Awards of bursary and fundraising for the Archbishop Andoh Education Endowment Fund on August 16 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Cantonments.
He added that the education system should enhance human dignity by focusing on the development of people and creating opportunities that make lives better.
The Archbishop Andoh Education Endowment Fund was established in 1999 by the late Rt. Rev. Dominic Andoh, then Archbishop of Accra to offer financial assistant to brilliant, needy students in the Archdiocese.
The fund is supported through an annual contribution of parishes in the Archdiocese.
