By Paschal Norbert

NAIROBI, MAY 25, 2026 (CISA)- It was a night wrapped in elegance, generosity and a shared dream for a more dignified future for marginalized communities. Beneath the warm lights of the Muthaiga Country Club and against the backdrop of a rainy Nairobi evening that failed to dampen spirits, the St. Joseph Allamano Foundation officially opened its doors to the public in a historic maiden fundraising dinner that brought together business leaders, corporate institutions, missionaries, professionals and people of goodwill united by one common conviction, that lives can indeed be transformed when communities choose to walk together.

Held on the evening of May 21, 2026, the event marked not only the official launch of the Foundation, but also the first initiative of its kind within all the circumscriptions of the Consolata Missionaries worldwide. It was a defining moment for the Kenya-Uganda Region of the Consolata Missionaries, signaling a bold and structured step toward sustainable social transformation, humanitarian outreach and support for mission territories often forgotten by mainstream development.

The atmosphere was one of purpose and fraternity. Long before the fundraising segment began, guests streamed into the venue for an evening that blended mission, philanthropy and hope. The gathering cut across religious, professional and social divides, proving that compassion remains a universal language.

From corporate executives and industrialists to longtime collaborators of the Consolata Missionaries, the night drew individuals and organizations determined to become part of a mission larger than themselves , a mission dedicated to uplifting vulnerable communities in arid and semi-arid regions where access to water, healthcare and education remains painfully inadequate.

At the center of the evening was the theme, “Changing Lives Together,” words that echoed across speeches, presentations and personal testimonies shared throughout the dinner. The theme was not merely decorative; it became the heartbeat of the night.

The Chairperson of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Senior Counsel Fred Ngatia, delivered one of the evening’s most defining moments. Speaking with conviction and calm authority, he assured contributors and supporters that the Foundation would uphold the highest standards of accountability and stewardship.

“Under our leadership, no coin contributed will be lost,” he said firmly, drawing applause from the audience.

His remarks carried weight not only because of his stature in Kenya’s legal and corporate landscape, but also because he personally led by example, making a substantial contribution alongside friends and affiliated organizations in support of the Foundation’s mission.

Even the heavy evening rain outside seemed unable to interrupt the spirit inside the hall. As dinner concluded, the fundraising segment commenced with overwhelming participation from leading corporate organizations and distinguished individuals.

Among the organizations represented were KCB Group, NCBA Bank, Dr Mattress, Aluglass Limited, AMS Properties, 316 Chambers, GeoChem, AdvTech, Britam, Ital Products, Atlas Copco and SBM Bank, among several other corporations and development-minded institutions.

The event also attracted respected industrialists, entrepreneurs and professionals, many of whom stepped forward publicly to pledge their support toward future projects under the Foundation.

Contributions flowed through various sponsorship tiers, including Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze categories, with organizations and individuals generously committing resources toward the Foundation’s humanitarian agenda. Yet beyond the figures raised, the evening revealed something deeper, the enduring power of solidarity and the willingness of people to invest in hope.

Historical Background

Founded and registered on August 14, 2025 under the Trustees (Perpetual Succession) Act, the St. Joseph Allamano Foundation was established by the Consolata Missionaries to serve the Kenya-Uganda Region through structured social and humanitarian interventions.

Its mission focuses particularly on marginalized communities living in arid and semi-arid areas where drought, lack of clean water, poor health infrastructure and limited educational opportunities continue to threaten human dignity and development.

For many families in such regions, mothers and children walk for hours under scorching heat in search of water, while livestock , often the only source of livelihood , perish during recurring drought seasons. It is this reality that the Foundation seeks to confront through sustainable interventions such as borehole drilling, water distribution systems, educational support and healthcare initiatives.

The Foundation is guided by a distinguished board of trustees comprising respected leaders from law, finance, engineering, governance, business and public service.

The trustees include Senior Counsel Fred Ngatia, Mr. Paul Russo, Ms. Ruth Kulundu, Mr. George Kamau Kihara, Mr. Gerald Museti Masese, Mr.  Mark Michael Macharia Ng’aru, Dr. Peter Munga, Ms. Jane Michuki, Ms. Agnes Wambui Mwicigi, Justice Mwaniki Gachoka and Mr. Elijah Githinji Itegi.

They are joined by representatives of the Consolata Missionaries led by the Regional Superior, Fr. Zachary Kariuki, IMC, the Regional Administrator, Br. Clarence Lukhungu,IMC,  and the Vice Regional Administrator,Fr. Felix Mulwa, IMC.
