NAIROBI, JULY 2, 2019 (CISA)– The Resurrection Garden in Nairobi has celebrated 25 years since its establishment.
The Sunday June 23 silver Jubilee Mass was celebrated by Bishop Alfred Rotich, emeritus of the Military Ordinariate, on the solemnity of Corpus Christi.
“When you come to the resurrection garden, you come to celebrate the life of Jesus. This is a tradition that the servant of God, Maurice Cardinal Otunga had in his intention to come up with this shrine,” said Bishop Rotich in his homily.
The resurrection garden was officially opened on 1994 and was visited by St John Paul II in September 1995.
“The specific aim of the Resurrection Garden is to offer to people of all walks of life and to all Denominations, a place for prayer, meditation and contemplation. The aim is to strengthen Christian faith and dedication, by meditating on the roots of Christianity,” the bishop said.
