NAIROBI, MAY 19, 2023 (CISA) – Celebrated American writer, public speaker, and leadership consultant, Chris Lowney, will from May 24 to June 3, 2023, facilitate a Leadership Workshop at the Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations (HIPSIR).
The former Managing Director of J.P. Morgan and the current chairperson of the Board of CommonSpirit Health, the largest Catholic health system, and the second-largest nonprofit hospital chain in the United States, will explicate the tenets of effective leadership and organizational transformation and give expert commentary on these topics, owing to his extensive knowledge and experience in leadership development, corporate strategy, and organizational culture.
Lowney, a Catholic, is the author of several bestselling books on leadership, including “Pope Francis: Why He Leads the Way He Leads,” “Heroic Leadership,” and “Make Today Matter.” His works have been featured in leading publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, and Fast Company.
On his visit to Kenya, the highly respected author and sought-after public speaker will also share why as an American, he would want to support the proposed Hekima University in Molo, Nakuru County, for the benefit of Kenya and other Eastern African countries.
The proposed Hekima University is an initiative of the Jesuits (The Society of Jesus Priests of Eastern Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Uganda). Jesuits globally operate over 200 Institutions of higher learning around the world.
The society is currently working to establish a new University in Molo, Nakuru County, called Hekima University. Jesuits’ education worldwide is known for academic, excellence, and holistic education that fosters social transformation.
