MERU, MARCH 24, 2023 (CISA) – Consolata Missionaries have opened a bookshop in Makutano, Meru, and the third after the Consolata Procures in Nairobi and Sagana.

The bookshop aims to support Consolata Shrine Mukululu in the Catholic diocese of Meru. Alongside bringing religious items closer to the people in Meru, Fr Stanley Muriuki in charge of Consolata Shrine Mukululu envisions that the bookshop will help to create awareness of the shrine. On the shot is a picture of the shrine in Mukululu and its contacts to help create more visibility.

“It’s like 20 years since it was proclaimed a shrine but maybe a lot was not done in marketing it. One of the things the bishop told me when I went to be introduced to him after being posted in Meru 1 year 4 months ago is the need to market the shrine,” he told CISA on Tuesday March 21 after the official launch of the shop in Meru.

The new shop was launched by Fr Zachary Kariuki, the Vice-regional Superior of Consolata Missionaries Kenya-Uganda Region.

“New times always demands that you have new strategies, because the aim is to continue evangelizing and in every era we have to reinvent ourselves to become relevant to the society. We have to build on what our missionaries, who came before us did,” Fr Zachary Kariuki, the Vice-regional Superior of Consolata Missionaries Kenya-Uganda Region told CISA.
