AMBANJA, MARCH 1, 2019 (CISA)-Consolata Missionaries on January 29, opened a new mission in the Catholic Diocese of Ambanja in the rural area of the northern part of Madagascar.
“The mission we are opening in Madagascar is an initiative of the continent of Africa…We chose Madagascar because it is a zone of Mission Ad Gentes. There are very few Christians there, and it is a place in great need for evangelization,” Fr Geoffrey Msumange, the continental councilor of Consolata Missionaries in Africa told CISA.
The mission was opened January 29, the date that the congregation of Consolata Missionaries was founded and dedicated to the patronage of Blessed Sr Leonella Sgorbati.
“She was a strong woman with great missionary zeal and love, who dedicated her life to serving this continent to the point of shedding blood for it. We want her spirit to be in our new mission in Madagascar,” says Fr Msumange.
The three pioneer missionaries, Fr Kizito Fr Jean and Fr Jared are set to travel and settle in Madagascar in March.
